Some time back, while on a visit to the Elliots beach in Besant Nagar, we had chilli bajji at the 'Elliots bajji stall' which sold bajjis made from onion, 'pottato', chilli, 'bannana', and 'coliflower' (at the risk of getting infected by E. coli !! I guess).
The fritters are made by dipping wafer-thin slices of onion, potato, big chillies, raw banana, and cauliflower florets in a dough made of bengal gram (called besan in Hindi, kadalamaavu in Kerala and TN) powder, chilli powder, salt and water. For the bold and the immune, there is nothing like fast-food and snacks from such way-side stalls. I particularly love the chilli bajjis.
* This is one of my all-time favorites - not the bajjis, but the spelling mistakes.

Hi, its also called lenthil.. dhals..so maybe lentil flour.
u can't help it if all of us don't know our spellings..
Job helps u watch out for these.. i used to note it while doing lit..now know how errors come about.. when u use phonetics to spell and not byheart them..!
sher was doing writing on her own.. she spelled won.. for one (1)!
who do u blame .. or find fault.. here teachers will say she tried on her own..great job..!encouraging kids to try harder..

I have done phonetics as a subject in BA Engl but that did not give me a licence to misspell words or spell things the way itsounded.
It is ok for sherin to do so - she is only 4 yrs old. That she isable to get at least one splg right itself is good.
btw, i must say it is not lenthil -it is lentil and dal. :)
Tho the latter being a hindi word u can spell it as u want.
hi, exactly..each one spells what they want..
they use both spellings seen in published books too.
i am so used to 1 kind of spelling that sometimes 1 has to rethink ..
which is right?..when sharon comes with doubt i tell her to check dic'

You will probably have a problem bcoz you grew up learning British eng spellings and ur daugther needs American spellings. Defense for defence, color for colour etc.
Even here in India we find, with all the Am. influence in our lives, people shifting to Am. sp. and I have to change defence to defense while editing. Sometimes I do it too for ease of writing (=laziness) emails - as in words like favorite and honor when i know i shldnt
hi, yeah, Am. spellings, Bristish ones then .. other nationalities spellings..
And being away from daily communications.. does not help.. readings become less too.. very hectic.
reach mds only 13 early morn
take care. ust
